How much does a new roof cost in Tacoma?
It depends on size, pitch, layers to tear off and the shingle you choose — which is why we do free, line-item estimates instead of guessing over the phone. You'll see exactly where every dollar goes, and we'll price options side by side so you can decide what fits.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes — every job runs through the proper city or county permit, and we're licensed with Washington L&I (contractor #JMROOMR788NJ), bonded and insured. You can verify our license on the state's website in about two clicks; we'll happily send you the link.
Can you get rid of roof moss for good?
We can get rid of what's there and make it very unwelcome coming back: soft-wash treatment, zinc strips at the ridge, better attic ventilation and algae-resistant shingles when it's time to replace. What we won't do is pressure-blast your shingles — that trades a moss problem for a roof problem.
Will you work with my insurance after storm damage?
Yes. We document everything with photos, write a detailed scope of the damage, and can meet your adjuster on site. Wind and tree damage is a normal part of South Sound roofing — we've rebuilt everything from a few ridge caps to a full tree-strike repair.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes take one to three days once materials are on site. We watch the weather windows closely — your deck is never left exposed overnight — and we'll give you an honest schedule up front, including what happens if the sky doesn't cooperate.
What warranty comes with the work?
Two layers: the manufacturer's warranty on your shingles (which we register for you), and our own written workmanship warranty on the installation. If something's wrong because of how it was installed, we come back and make it right. Simple as that.
